What is a WebRTC leak?
A WebRTC leak is an unexpected disclosure of network address information through browser real-time communication. The useful question is whether a public address bypasses the exit you intended to use.
Which addresses matter?
ICE may expose public, private or mDNS-obfuscated candidates. Private LAN addresses and mDNS names are different from a second public address. The result needs this context before it can be described as a leak.
Steps
- Find your intended public exit IP.
- Open the browser privacy check and inspect the WebRTC observation.
- Compare address types and repeat if your VPN or network changes.
FAQ
Does no WebRTC result mean safe?
No. The browser, policy or network may block the test. An unavailable result cannot confirm protection.

Modern home, IP risk, privacy and latency pages start a shared session automatically, including external DNS and STUN connections. Direct entry to tools, method or policy pages does not start a session; an existing session may continue. Old language homepages show an IP profile and use separate buttons for extra browser checks.
